Knowledge

Identify minimum hardware and software requirements for installation

  • The View Transfer Server has to be managed by the same vCenter Server instance as the local desktops it will manage
  • It does not have to be part of a domain
  • It must use a static IP address
  • The virtual machine must be configured to use the LSI Logic Parallel SCSI controller. It cannot use a SAS or VMware paravirtual controller
  • View Transfer Server software cannot coexist on the same virtual machine with any other View Manager software components
  • The VMDK that is configured as the image repository must have enough storage space to house the static image files. Image files are View Composer base images
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit (Enterprise and Standard) is supported with a minimum of 4GB of RAM
  • Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit (Enterprise and Standard) is supported with a minimum of 2GB of RAM
  • Two virtual CPU’s should be configured per View Transfer Server
