VCP-5

VMware vSphere VCP 5

Welcome to my VCP 5 study guide page. Listed below is a breakdown of what is included in the VCP 5 Exam Blueprint (currently version 1.4) and study notes for the sections. Josh Coen (blog/twitter) and myself are working together to put this guide together. So as you are clicking through different sections you may be redirected to Josh’s blog. Once all sections have been completed the goal is to put them all into a handy PDF document for download. We both appreciate any comments or feedback on the content we are building and hopefully you find it helpful in your studies for the VCP 5 exam as well.

Thank you Jason, this guide has put my mind at ease. Having already sifted through
VMwares documentation it quickly became apparent that the required information is
scattered all over the place. Makes it really hard to track down the key points that you
    need to focus on.

Appreciate the work you are doing.

      Ryan,

Thanks for feedback! I hope the information here helps you with passing the VCP 5 exam.

I’m in the vsphere 5 class right now, asked my instructor about this app and he said it’s bogus. Word on the instructor vine is that the question pool is fraught with incorrect answers and bad information. I’ll stick with studying the real guides.

Thank you guys for sharing this guide. I am also studying for the vcp exam.
Are you keeping an errata for future editions. Fixing these little typos makes future editions of better quality.

Hey Jason, just checked out your guide as I’m after an accelerated path to the VCP5 exam. The guide looks great and I know from my VCAP-DCA guide how much work it takes putting this stuff together! Thanks from me and no doubt the rest of the community.

p.s. If you get time page numbers would be good to go with the contents page. Also makes it easier when collecting from the printer and people have scattered your pages around! :-)

      Hey Ed,

Thx for the post! As you know, it is definitely a labor of love. Once you start it you have to finish it. :)

I guess I didn’t notice the missing page numbers, we will get that corrected and get an updated PDF put out there.

    Jason,
I wanted to personally thank you and Josh for a “perfect” study guide. I don’t want to get into how much time I spent actually reading the official documentation because it’s nearly embarrassing. This guide that you two put together helped me get through the thousands of pages of reading and focus on what was important. I know there are sites that offer questions and answers. I also know that when it comes down to the job, those questions and answers won’t help. I look forward to your work with the VCAP-DCA 5! (BTW, I passed July 3rd)

Thank you for this guide.. I’m hope it’ll help me write my VCP
